Purpose of study

　The purpose of this paper is to briefly outline some important features of the Australian Language Levels (ALL) Guidelines and the Australian National Curriculum Guidelines for Japanese and then to examine the relevance of these documents to the teaching of Japanese as a second or foreign language in Japan.
